iphone-small.gif

Since summer 2009 I am using an Apple Iphone 3G S. This so called smart phone really is smart. Beside the functionality as a cellular telephone you are able to write and receive E – mails use the internet or the inbuilt camera and with the 3G S model even use it as a video camera. Since summer 2011 I upgraded to an iPhone 4S.

Beside this you are able to run hundreds of applications called “Apps” on the Iphone. In the following I will describe some of the apps related to Ham  radio.

The fees given are in Euro and the fee the app will cost in Germany. If the app isn´t available in Germany, the cost is given in US $. Please see your App store for your local currency.

The orientation of the map is easily changed by a simple rotation of the device from portrait (3D) to landscape (2D). In either orientation you can zoom in and out as well as pan using the touch screen. Controls are given to allow you to select: the texture maps used, whether shading is performed, whether to draw political boundaries and if a lat/lon grid should be presented.
